Our Single Parent Military Veterans

Imagine a single Veteran and his/her small children living in a two-man tent on the side street or ally.

Imagine them sleeping in their car, going into a fast-food restaurant to

wash their kids and then walking them to school. Imagine little latch-key children,

coming home from school locked in an extended stay hotel until their parents come

home from their part-time job. This is the current state of several single military Veterans

with children.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

A Veteran’s story…

“My military unit received orders from the United States Government. It was time to

deploy to War. I became a single parent when my spouse didn’t return. While deployed,

we were required to have a legal guardian for our children. The deployment was for

however long I my country required – sometimes six months, one year or three years.

Once Ie retuned home I arranged worked to have a stable home base for me and my

children – a house, schools, medical and social stability for your family. When my

enlistment ended my status went from active duty to Veteran. I needed medical

treatment after the war, but I had to find work and a place for my children to live and

register them for school. Little did I know that my children and I would experience

evictions, homelessness, and extended-stay hotels living.

With your help, generous donations, cooperate and military grants, I’m hoping that no

other single parent will have this story on their resume. Expecting to make a living

wage and live in a home one can afford, should be possible for every military Veteran,

and single parent with children. You Can Make this possible by giving to the Legacy of Love, Hope and Grace.
